Materials Required:
15cm x 20cm 16 count White Aida.
Red ribbon 3mm wide x 12cm long.
15 Gold beads.
Madeira metallic threads (No. 40 which comes
on a reel) in the following colours:
Astro Multi Colour Number 2.
Red Metallic Number 15.
Gold Metallic Number 3.
Stranded cotton:
DMC Anchor Madeira

Medium Emerald Green.
Embroidery hoop.
Card mount - AP32G.
Stitch count width 58 x depth 83.
To Make the Card:
It is advisable to do all the stitching using an
embroidery hoop for even and neat stitches.
Row 1- Use 2 strands of green stranded cotton
and follow chart for the position of the stitches,
work row as follows: Bring the needle up at 1
and down at 2, up again at 3 and down at 2, up
at 4 and down at 2, up at 5 and down at 2, up at
6 and down at 2 then up again at 6 , down at 7,
which begins the stitch again.
Row 1
Row 2 - Use 2 strands of Astro Multicolour
thread and follow chart for the position of the
stitches. Bring the needle up a 1, down at 2, up at
3 and down at 4, up at 5 and down at 6, up at 7
and down at 8 to complete the stitch.

Row 2
and 1 stand of Astro Multicolour thread and
follow the chart for the position of the stitches.
Bring the needle up at 1 and down at 2, up at 3
and down at 2, up at 4 and down at 2, up at 5
and down at 2, up at 6 and down at 2, etc.
Row 6
Row 3 - Use 1 strand of Gold 3 and one strand
of Red 15 metallic together. Follow the chart for
the position of the stitches. Bring needle up at 1
and down at 2, up at 3 and down at 2, up at 4
and down at 2, up at 5 and down at 2, up at 6
and down at 2, up at 7 and down at 2, etc.
Row 7 - Use 2 strands of red metallic 15 and
following the chart, backstitch the ‘flowers’.
When flowers are completed, use 2 strands of
gold to stitch the beads into the centre of each
‘flower’.

Row 4 - Use 2 strands of green stranded
cotton and follow the chart for the position of
the stitches. Bring needle up at 1 and down at 2,
up at 3 and down at 4, up at 5 and down at 6,
up at 7 and down at 8, up at 5 and down at 7,
up at 6 and down at 8, up at 7 and down at 6,
up at 5 and down at 8. Needle up at 9 which
begins the next stitch.
Row 8 - Use 2 strands of green stranded
cotton and follow the chart for the position of the
stitches. Bring the needle up at 1 and down at 2,
up at 3 and down at 2, up at 4 and down at 2, up
at 5 and down at 2, up at 6 and down at 2, up at
7 and down at 2, etc.
Row 4
Row 8
Row 5 - Use 2 strands of Astro Multicolour
and follow the chart for the position of the stitch-
es. Lay the ribbon across the fabric and work the
stitches over it encasing the ribbon with the
stitches as you go. Do not stitch into the ribbon.
You may find your ribbon is slightly wider than
the stitches which will cause the ribbon to bend.
This is desirable and adds to the finished effect.
Bring the needle up at 1 and down at 2, up at 3
and down at 4, up at 5 and down at 6, etc.
Row 9 - Use 2 strands of Astro Multicolour
and follow the chart for the position of the
stitches. Work in the same way as row 2.
Row 10 - Use 2 strands of red metallic thread
and follow the chart for the position of the
stitches. Work in the same way as row 4.
Work the bottom corner as the chart using 2
strands of green stranded cotton for the green
backstitch and 2 strands of Astro Multicolour for
the stars, (see stitching guide for row 2 for how
to stitch the stars).
Work the top corner as the chart using 2
strands of green stranded cotton for the green
backstitch and 2 strands of Astro Multicolour for
the rest. Stitch bead into centre of motif.

Row 6 - Use 1 strand of green stranded cotton
